In this study, we computed the ice accreted on the RANGER UAV built by RUAG. To compute the ice accretion we needed to couple our CFD tools with an icing software. Ice is build up on an aircraft when it flies through clouds with a certain temperature. This phenomena is due to the fact that clouds are wet environments, and at temperatures below a certain level, water droplets freeze at the impact with the aircraft.
